Can't Rain All The Time

Story

There was one day when I was young when a severe thunderstorm hit in the summer. My dad was off at work, so it was just me, my mom, and my older brother. I have always been slightly scared of thunderstorms, even though I love the rain, so my mom gathered my brother and I in his room to lay on the floor in the closet and watch movies on our portable DVD player. At the time, I don’t think my mom realized how much that meant to me - it calmed me down, but also created a core memory for me.

But then… the rain continued. The thunderstorm lasted for days, and I was craving the sunshine of summer again. Eventually, though, the storm passed. The sun shone again. 

Unintentionally, it served as a lesson for me: without darkness, we can’t truly appreciate the light. Without experiencing thunderstorms, we don’t realize how much we enjoy sunshine. The tough spots in life help us to cherish the good times that once were and will be to come. If you’re in a complicated time of your life right now, I hope this strap encourages you of the sunshine to come.
