Flower and Bird Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Blue Lotus Leaves Gongbi

If flower and bird subjects are your thing, this silk wall-hanging scroll of Blue Lotus Leaves Gongbi is worth a long look. The image is carried on silk with a traditional scroll mounting, top and bottom — blue lotus leaves resting beautifully on the weave. Look for lotus and clouds worked into the scene — this flower and bird Chinese scroll painting rewards a second glance. The lower half takes its cue from gongbi, while the eye travels upward. Hang it where the morning light finds it.

The middle ground belongs to lotus, with clouds answering from the side. What sells it is the gongbi — handled deftly, like the best classical Chinese flower and bird wall art pieces. A meditative quality runs through the entire composition. The painter tucks lotus into the corners like a signature. Understated in the best sense.

One strong piece beats a gallery wall — start the living room here. Give it to the person who notices details — they'll find the perfect living room spot. End of story: Blue Lotus Leaves Gongbi is the traditional Chinese silk wall hanging your wall was missing. Let the house exhale.
