Flower and Bird Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Kingfisher Willow

This silk wall-hanging scroll presents Kingfisher Willow, a flower and bird subject rendered in the classical Chinese manner. Silk was the support of choice for court painters — a fact the gongbi here makes clear. Between the kingfisher and the willow, there's plenty to discover in this flower and bird Chinese scroll painting. Notice the lotus in the composition: unforced, exactly where it should be. The sort of scroll you stop noticing — in the best way.

Between gongbi and kingfisher, the composition finds its rhythm. What sells it is the willow — handled deftly, like the best classical Chinese flower and bird wall art pieces. A hush hangs over the scene, the companionable kind. Look for the lotus — a small pleasure tucked into the scene. Timeless without trying too hard.

A natural for the living room wall, beside a bookshelf or in an entryway. Collectors of Chinese art will appreciate the honest craftsmanship — a fine addition to any living room. Kingfisher Willow closes the case — a traditional Chinese silk wall hanging with nothing to prove. Bring the quiet home.
