Landscape Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Golden Trees

Here a mountain-and-water landscape take center stage in a traditional wall scroll, made for close, quiet looking. Painters never tired of the landscape, and looking at this scroll, neither will you. Around the main subject, mountains, river and trees fill out the scene without crowding it.

The classical brushwork manner suits the subject perfectly — ink and light color in the literati manner. In Chinese painting, falling water is the steady flow of fortune, never still. Color stays touches of gold — enough to lift the ink, never enough to shout. The eye travels the scroll the way you would walk the scene — mountains, then river, then the distance beyond. The tall format is no accident — the composition is built to be read downward.

For the person building their first Chinese art collection, this is a gift that lands well. Collectors of landscape silk wall art will find this one easy to live with. It is a fine example of mountains and river Chinese painting, the kind of piece that grows on you.
