Qi Baishi Landscape Chinese Painting Print – Houses Bridge

This Houses Bridge has the stillness people travel to museums for — exactly what this kind of traditional Chinese painting reproduction should be. It arrives as a bare printed sheet: a huaxin reproduction of the painting, nothing added.

Mountain leads, pavilion follows, and trees fills out the background, and a worthy Chinese brush painting print. There’s also houses and bridge worked into the scene. The mountains have weight; the brushwork gives them weather too. A pavilion in the hills is the promise of leisure. Qi Baishi painted flowers, shrimp, and insects with a farmer’s directness — this sheet has that same unpretentious energy. The image holds together at any distance — strong from across the room, fine up close.

The study, the library, the meditation corner — take your pick — a Chinese landscape art print with real substance. It will look as right in ten years as it does today — classical images don’t date.
